This episode reminds me of a family that live in my town. The stepfather had an affair with his stepdaughter, and her mum found out. It tore the family apart. The mum and stepfather divorced, and the stepfather married his stepdaughter 🙄 The mum and daughter are now estranged, and all over a man that doesn't deserve them in the first place. Sure legally it's not a crime, but morally it is wrong. I don't know how the daughter could do that to her mum, and the stepfather probably groomed the stepdaughter.

The sheer amount of Lolita references here blew my mind when i first saw the episode. Hayes the landlady mom being 1 to 1 with Charlotte Haze, the foreign writer in the spare room, Virginia being the name of Dolores's friend, the fact homey was a travel writer was indicative of the cross country travels of Lo and Hum, the flowers, even Virginia killing Schiller was almost a way to discuss Humbert feeling like he was killed when she did leave. So many parallels

Age gap aside, Munch was always had a smooth way with words that made me want him all to myself: charming, cultured gentlemen with a bit of a fun snark humour, what’s not to like? How his character stayed single seemed like the biggest crime in the show ☺️

The way Elliot smiles at Liv when she’s speaking Spanish (Portuguese?) is adorable!

I LOVE it when Munch has the hots for someone. He rarely cares, but when he does...he's all in

I miss that type of writing, the wild whimsical characters like Mrs. Hayes — played by a seasoned, recognizable actress — that would add some levity and humour to an overall serious and murderous story of Law & Order.

I think this is the first episode where we begin to see Stabler's inability to keep work life and home life separate. The landlady's daughter is the same age as his own. Olivia was able to understand some of the landlady's daughter's way of thinking because she had them herself. Stabler wasn't able to because he didn't see the landlady's daughter. He saw his own. That was the beginning of how complicated things were at home for Stabler, and how his work life affected his personal life.

-Can I drive?
-Since you're probably about as old as my partner, I don't see why not.
-What? 🤨

Love the early seasons banter so much lmfao

It probably wasn’t that funny to most but I laughed out loud when Munch said “yes Santa Claus! There is a Virginia” lmao 😂

I don't know why, but I love Lynn Collins. Shame two movies almost tanked her career. X-men Origins and John Carter...She deserved so much better.

Man...when people start saying things like "Capital R" something, or "Capital" fill in whichever letter, you know what you're watching is nostalgic. Takes me straight back to the 90's, every time. No one hardly ever has this kind of "capital" phonetic of language anymore.

Correction for train geeks at 4:09: Katonah is on the Metro-North Harlem line, not the "North Brewster" line. I'm not sure when this was filmed, but for many years, the final stop for many Harlem line trains was "Brewster North", but now the station is called "Southeast".
