White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki to step down

President Joe Biden's chief spokesperson has resigned less than a year and a half into his term.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced she will step down from next week - reportedly to take up a high-paying job with cable-TV channel, MSNBC.

She'll be replaced by Karine Jean-Pierre, who will be the first black and openly gay person to serve as the public face of a US administration.

President Biden praised the outgoing Ms Psaki - saying she "set the standard for returning decency, respect and decorum to the White House Briefing Room."

I thought equity for ALL was and is what Democrats incessantly rant about. If so, please explain why GAY people are represented more prominently, percentage wise, in many sectors of the community.
Entertainment, followed by politics lead in the disparity.
With entertainment, in particular the television and movie scene, it is difficult to find a production that does not have a gay person or persons in the cast.

I won’t miss her, but she’s entitled to pursue whatever happiness that awaits her. That said, her replacement is not going to last very long if she’s not ready to articulate the Democratic Party talking points with vigor.
