there is the VVER reactor type (similar to Westinghouse's pressurized water reactor - PWR) with a massive solid steel boiler to contain the nuclear reactor & the boiling hot water
and then there is the RBMK reactor type (the design that caused Chernobyl) with no steel case, just concrete to contain the hot water & nuclear material + the graphite control rods; the upside to RBMK was it being cheap to build & cheap to fuel (natural uranium is ok), therefore cheap to scale up (a RBMK reactor's output is around 1000-1500 MW)

the Canadians also don't handle cold that well in the UK or Netherlands, our humidity is so high that the cold feels much worse, and the heat feels worse than it does in e.g. Brazil
