What's the most obscure character you recognized in Astro Bot?

Finally Rogue Galaxy gets the recognition it damn well deserves. A truly underappreciated gem that could've launched an entire series. Here is to hoping for a sequel, or the very least a spiritual successor.

I should mention some corrections, both Devil Dice and Mad Maestro have sequels however all but one have never left Japan. Devil Dice's PS2 sequel, Bombastic, we got, however that series got an expansion on PS1 (XI Jumbo), a port on Wonderswan (XI Little), and another sequel on PSP (XI Colosseum). And as for Mad Maestro, it got 2 expansions and a proper sequel in 2002 which all thankfully have English voice acting so you can at least understand the story. Also, the mobile version of Arc the Lad mentioned is not a remake, its a sequel intended to take place after Arc 2 in an alternate timeline

I was obsessed with Rogue Galaxy as a child as something I picked up on a whim from a GameStop. It'll always hold a special place in my heart 🙏

really love how charmingly astro bot shows off the playstation series(that they really need to focus on that variety for ps6.) colorful worlds like you're going through them collecting it's characters on your adventures.(love unlucky salesman, mad maestro, reiko nagase adorably racing, intelligence cube & the most surprising to me was ulala with how i've only seen her connection through space channel 5 vr/sol badguy/deep cut motortoon grand prix.:3)

I was so happy to see Rogue Galaxy get referenced in this game. I was one of the lucky few to play it on the PS2; my cousin gave me his old console (along with a few of his games), but I found a copy of Rogue Galaxy at a video rental store. When the store announced their closure, they sold off their rentals, which of course I bought Rogue Galaxy.

4:10 that's diabolical. Why don't Sony plan their announcements better?!

I was personally delighted by the celestial brush god-wolf, Amaterasu from Okami. Very cool.

I do love how this helped expose me to so many obscure video games and their soundtracks. Currently listening through Arc The Lad: TOTS and it's SUCH A MASTERPIECE of a soundtrack.

You know with all these familiar characters and the mention of Playstation all stars battle royale, Sony could dip their toes back in the platform fighting game genre in an era where a lot of companies want to be the next Smash. Mayhaps green lighting a new All stars game for current Gen consoles? Maybe ask Team Asobi to work on it?

The (very definitely) Final Concert in Mad Maestro! involves getting through the entire soundtrack, with no feedback during the song, and if you fail any song, it's Game Over. It takes about an hour and a half, for just the music, but if you want to take a break, it does pause between songs.

One of the few gaming memories I have with my Dad--and by "few, " I'm talking, probably in the single digits--was going all the way through the Final Concert on Mad Maestro!

I REALLY hope they're bringing this back. Orchestral music is underrepresented in the rhythm genre, by a mile.

Sony: we are adding tons of old PlayStation ips to astrobot.
Also Sony: we don’t have a lot of ips so we will just remaster some games instead

I lost my mind when I saw Ash, concrete genie is still one of my favorite PS games, glad asobi was willing to give them the time of day, and if they add more, I know a lot of people want square Enix rep, but I'd love to see more weird options like lost in random, no straight roads, biomutant, psychonauts or even borderlands

Devil dice (Xi in Japan) is one of my favs all time. Still have it. There’s a sequel called Bombastic for ps2 (XI GO in Japan) that’s just as good. Same playstyle and all!

Also wow, incredible crisis too. Absolutely loved that game so much.

I actually have the English dub of Mad Maestro game that I got years ago!
I love musical games, but that was hard to play at times!

I was hoping for a Spider-Bot… since the relationship with Sony and Spider-Man is so prevalent 💯🙏🏼
