RAS with our mates from the US 🇦🇺🇺🇸 The ADF has continued deepening relationships with partners by participating in trilateral operations in the South China Sea during a regional presence deployment. 💪
RAN frigate HMAS Warramunga (FFH-152) operated with @USNavy Independence class Littoral Combat Ship USS Mobile (LCS-26) and French Navy frigate FS Vendemiaire before conducting a replenishment at sea with U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command supply ship USNS Wally Schirra.
Regional presence deployments are a key part of Australia’s engagement with the Indo-Pacific region. They strengthen practical cooperation with neighbours and partners, enhance interoperability and contribute to regional security.
“The Australian Defence Force’s near continuous presence in the Indo-Pacific demonstrates our resolve for a peaceful, secure and prosperous region where sovereignty and agreed rules and norms are respected,” Commodore Jonathan Ley, Australia’s Joint Force Maritime Component Commander said.
“Opportunities to operate with allies and partners while in the region enhance our ability to respond cooperatively to shared security challenges and to assist neighbours during humanitarian crises.”
