ADF | Royal Australian Navy Fleet Review

Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited Australia between 18 and 23 October 2024. It was The King’s first Royal Visit as Sovereign, and the first visit by a reigning monarch since 2011.

During their visit, Their Majesties visited the Australian War Memorial and Parliament House in Canberra on 21 October 2024; and observed a Royal Australian Navy Fleet Review and Australian Defence Force fly-over along Sydney Harbour on 22 October 2024.

The critical role of the Australian Defence Force during the visit Their Majesties demonstrates close relationship between the monarchs and Australia’s military forces. His Majesty The King has a long and proud relationship with Navy, Army and Air Force organisations, who holds a number of honorary ranks.

It just shows you how pitiful our navy is!!! Jesus ... I hope we don't get caught in any wars within tthe next 10 years. We wouldn't stand a ghost of a chance!!!

the real factor see what the RAN can actually deploy for planned missions, exercises etc. all too often only two subs can deploy, Remember their PR area saying one Collins would be operating on RIMPAC in the US and been tied along side in Singapore broken down waiting for repairs and parts for months lol. Other ships we got from great allies USN and RN broken down for half a year and rust buckets lol. Only thing worse than their ship projects the choppers lol.

I understand this isn't up to the Department of Defense, but I really wish we invested more of our GDP into our armed forces (especially the Navy). We urgently need to expand fast. Think of how much has changed in the past 5-10 years. 2030+ may be to late and that seems to be the general time frame for almost all major future purchases. We need more A.W.Ds, Triple the current Hunter class numbers, and bring on an HMAS Melbourne part 2.
