It's NVIDIA. They say it's a "Titan replacement" when they know it isn't and they'll come up with a Titan GPU later. And let's not talk about all the Ti/Super cards.

I can finally afford a 3090. It’s great to watch this in 2023! This is why the 40 series card sales are suffering. I paired this with a 13600k and a some DDR5 at 7200mhz. Great stuff!

"The New Titan In All But Name" except it doesn't have the same driver optimizations as Titan RTX for many professional applications and NVIDIA has said it won't get them.

I think the idea behind using "3090" instead of "Titan" is that they no longer have to keep inventing Titan names. Though honestly they should have just used the architecture name from the get go. "Titan Ampere", "Titan Turing", "Titan Pascal", "Titan Kepler". But also, they get to sort of merge their Ti series and Titan series.

If I had a 3090, I'd still be using it in 2k or 4k. The notion of "8k" just seems absolutely ridiculous. Maybe in 10 years I'll look back and think I was an idiot, but hardly anything currently runs at 4k...
