I screwed up and gave my 1975 goldwing to a friend of mine, it was all original and unrestored but ran great and was kept up maintenance wise. He RUINED it, he promised “I’ll keep it like this or maybe restore it” but then he cut the exhaust up, and took the rear pegs off put straight flat handlebars on it cut the seat and the rear fender off. It broke my heart. I get it if it got wrecked or the engine failed or whatever, and I get that it wasn’t my bike anymore, but looking back there were other people who would have actually enjoyed it for what it was, a beautiful unmolested example of an original goldwing. Thank you for preserving yours and sharing it with us here on YouTube. My little walk around video of my 1975 was aired on discovery channel biketacular special. So at least it had its 5 seconds of fame. I bought it from the original owner.

Looking really Good, old school bikes have so much more charm than all the run of mill bikes today

Otra que se escapó al futuro!!! Al día de hoy su carácter rebelde y hermosas líneas, sigue desbordando su verdadera belleza y poder.

Great job!
I owned one for 7 years.
Did you know that there were only 2000 made of these LTD Goldwings? The tolerances of the engine were
made very small and the 'goldenplated' wheels are unique for this bike.
This motor in this you have a great investment.

Syncing the carbs helps. I also put on electronic ignition. Got rid of the points. Made it less cold blooded.

I had a 78 GL1000 but I got married and the wife made me get rid of it. Once I get divorced or when my kid graduates from HS (whichever comes first) I'm buying one of these and this 76ltd is what I'm after. I hope they are still around then. Love the GL's. They are my favorite bike.

Hate to say it but today was the first time I've started it in over a year. Started up, but I need to go through the carbs. Maybe new timing belt, plugs, etc. This winter I want to get it ready for spring.

1979 on a MRA run to the Grampians and a 77 wing goes past. Old boy with his granddaughter, intercom on listening to music looking like they are sitting in an armchair each, beautiful!

Wally Kapaun brought Honda motorcycles to Fargo, North Dakota in, I believe, 1963. When Honda brought out the 1976 GL 1000 LTD, Wally put his on display at his dealership where it sat up on a pedestal for many years with "0" miles on the odometer. Wally passed away in 1998 and his Widow (Nancy) operated the dealership until 2007. I have no idea what ever became of the "LTD", but wouldn't it be cool if it is still sitting somewhere with "0" miles on it. I have never been in the new owner's, new building since I don't live in Fargo any longer. Is it sitting in the new building? I don't know.
