I miss my bullmastiff terribly. She was absolutely perfect in every way.

Never owned one but my aunt did. Dog was a treasure. She absolutely loved me, and I will never forget having her put her 180 lbs in my lap and not let anyone near me.

And the worst thing about bullmastiffs is their really poor health issues

Had two English mastiff’s and my giant 200+ Pound male was the sweetest goofiest boy, or female on the other hand was very very protective. When we broke up I was supposed to take her with me but with how aggressively protective she was I knew it would be trouble for her so I made a heartbreaking decision to let her stay with her brother and my ex.

My cousin had a bull mastiff and he was on of the best trained dogs I’ve ever met and he loved kids it still amazes me how well my uncle trained that dog RIP Hercules

A warning for anyone thinking of getting this bread. Do not get one if you have knee, hip, shoulder or back problems also do not get one of you are petite or thinly built. These beautiful dogs are large and very powerful and you need to be able to have complete control of them especially if/when they are set off, too many people thinks they can handle them when they can’t and the dog is the one the suffers for it.

my bull mastiff/pitbull mix is the love of my life! she is very protective over me & my family, but once she sees that we’re okay with someone, she is very quick to be just as sweet to them as she is to us! she knows her recall commands, knows her signals for danger & senses my anxiety & overstimulation very well. she’s such a good girl!

I have a French mastiff mix and her guardian instincts are incredible, factory built. But when she's anxious it's a nightmare for guest. I 100% agree with your advice

I must be lucky then as mines an absolute sweetheart. Gets on with all dogs and people. Doesn’t jump and just so happy and friendly around anyone and everything. Yet to find any faults apart from the odd stubbornness which is a bullmastiff trait but she eases out of that with gentle persuasion.

At 3am in the morning my 2, male and female, went ballistic! I was amazed at their speed! Some guy was trying to break in and he saw them and fled.
I have very tragically seen my male kill another dog! I was with my two dogs and a large, 120 lbs/55kg German shepherd totally attacked us while off leash and not even a collar while jogging in a park with a young woman. I had my dogs on lunge lines to control them but I feel as we had had trouble here before- a dangerous park at night- they were extra vigilant. So my male intercepted him and ended the poor guy in one hit! That's a lot of power and owners need to realize their potential if provoked. They will die for you and my male was 147lbs and my female was 123lbs so they're a fairly large dog.
But they overall are a joy to own unless you're in a hot or humid climate- they're not a Miami kind of dog in my opinion. And man they can drool!

Same thing for Rottweilers, and it doesn’t even have to be the family. We took our adolescent(at the time) rotty to my brothers football game(soccer for you Americans) and he started growling at this one lady who was screaming at her kid for not doing something right. We ended up having to take him back to the car and walk him around in the parking lot
