The best family drama I've read, The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen is one of the best books published in the 21st century.

In this book review, I argue that it is subtly experimental fiction in contrast to Ben Marcus. Just a disclaimer, I've got nothing against Ben Marcus, I only keep making videos challenging him as he's one of the only people asking important questions about modern fiction. We live in an age where barely anyone is reading, or questioning writing! Ben Marcus serves as the best counterpoint for thinking seriously about good contemporary fiction. I'm also a massive fan of David Foster Wallace, which you'll soon find out more directly. The Corrections, even if it was not experimental, holds as an excellent family drama incorporating the style of both modern realism and the New Sincerity movement in literature — it's both humble and forthcoming about what we can all relate to — the idea of family.
