The ISTP is one of the 16 MBTI personalities and comprises part of the Temperament group known as the “Artisans” which also includes the ESTP, ESFP and ISFP types. The ISTP has been dubbed many things such as the “mechanic”, “virtuoso” and “Tactical Crafter”. They are introverts noted for their prowess with tools and machinery and working with their hands. I tend to get extremely defensive when people check up on my growth, learning, development. I also get annoyed when they do not give me the space and time to do so.

The sudden lash out in anger is so true. We are normally very calm but every so often those bottled up emotions come out, sometimes when alcohol is involved.

As an ISTP I also don’t recognize hierarchy. In a room filled with people who have mixed levels of success in life I will not be impressed or disappointed. Everyone gets treated exactly the same. Authority is suspicious and I will do anything to remove myself from under the thumb of any authority.

As an istp thats actually true and about isolation i prefer spending time on my own except for traveling. I dont like traveling alone at all it makes me nervous

Good job. I'm an ISTP and this is pretty accurate. It took me a LONG time to learn that being mindful of and responsive to the feelings of others would actually help me in the long run. Lots of unintended offenses.

"istp tend to believe they can fix their own problems without the help of outside intervention" idk but this is kinda true. i hold a lot of emotions that i just reserve my tears to fall down at night if i cant hold what i feel anymore so no one will know. expressing emotions is a weakness to me. i will tell myself that i am stupid if i cried bcs of a reason that i also considered as stupid.

Ever since I've found out that I am an ISTP, my past failed relationships suddenly make sense. Now I understand why I grew bored of them so quickly. This is definitely a weak part of me and I will need to work on it IF I ever get in a new relationship (which, let's be honest, is probably highly unlikely).
