My Life After Leukaemia | Stand Up To Cancer

Leukaemia is a cancerous illness of white blood cells. Holly’s dream of going to dance school was cut short when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at just 15 years old. Fast forward to today – she’s now five years in remission, and is back to full fitness. Holly wanted to share her story to help inspire people going through a difficult time, and this is her way of getting payback on cancer.

I also had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and I was 14 years old when I had it! I went through chemotherapy and was in the hospital for 4 months! The 1st month I could not move a muscle! Then month 2, I regain some movement in my body! And I had 29 spinal taps! Now here I am 23 years later, I have been in Full-Remission for 13 years and I can say, “GOD DOES MIRACLES”! If you and I can make it through it, everyone can make it through anything!

I am at the end of my 5 chemo cycles (AML). Good to see stories of people fighting cancer and coming back at full power. Was very much into endurance sport until my diagnosis. 6 months of chemo has taken it's toll. Hope for a complete remission until a very high age and hopefully will be back to sports in the near future.

I am dealing with having had leukemia. Diagnosed Mar.8 218. I had terrible complications and was forced to stay in the hospital until Nov. 2 2018. I had a BMT in Aug. and then was told I was in remission on Dec. 14. I am still struggling mightily. I the spring of 2019, I was beginning to feel my oats, golfed 4 holes one day:) But now I am declining again. I think it has a lot to do with my still current usage of prednisone. As my weening off the drug continues, I an starting to feel almost as bad as when I was in the hospital. Maybe like a bad flu x 2. sorry smoked some weed and forgot my line of thought...f cancer
