Taking my Model 3 to the Tesla Service Centre for a repair. After putting up with this fault for several months, I finally booked my into the Leeds UK service centre. Today I’m showing you how to book a service, what happened with my repair and what my overall experience was like. Do you think this is acceptable? #tesla #teslaservice #teslarepair

Who’s had to return their car for warranty work within 6 months? Has anyone else had a door alignment issue?

Let me know what you want to see next, drop your suggestions in the comments.

Just took my model 3 into Chester SC on Monday to have a windscreen replaced due to a crack caused by a stone. Took it in for 10:30. Moved to the workshop 5 minutes later. Technician came to talk to me to say it would take about 4 hours as the glue had to dry. I decided to wait and had copious drinks and snacks. A couple of people walked past and said hello and to make sure I was ok. Car returned at 15:15 all done. I was charged £840 for the replacement compared to £1140 from a well known windscreen company. I would say all in all a very positive experience.

Just started watching one of your videos, and noticed this gap or misalignment and I was like:" Nah... I don't want to be annoying".
Next video, OP resolves the issue I noticed. Very satisfying :)

We had a similar experience. We noticed that the glue on the rubber around the rear doors had failed and the rubber was hanging down when the door was open. Booked in at a service centre, expecting them to just glue it back on and we’d be on our way. They said that there was a recall on the wiring loom and we waited about 90 minutes. We came out to inspect the car and they hadn’t fixed the rubber seals at all, we pointed this out to the service manager who said that they’d repaired the wrong side (there was nothing wrong with the drivers side, God knows what they did) and they took the car back for another half an hour before sorting it.

A few months later the car developed a fault where we received an error message that the SOS system was faulty and regenerative braking was unavailable.

We booked it in again and they remotely diagnosed a faulty antenna and booked us in. (I thought that was Clever)

During that time we’d also noticed a knocking from the rear nearside suspension when going over bumps. This was audible from the outside as well. They said that the car would need a mechanical examination to diagnose the fault. So the car went in last week and they’ve given us a ropey old 65 plate Model S P85D with 50k on the clock which is locked in chill mode (😕). The car is clearly unloved as it’s absolutely battered and filthy outside and in, it’s also got a £2500 insurance excess on it so the Mrs won’t drive it. I love the Tesla brand and the product but their service leaves a lot to be desired!

“Tesla” and “pre-delivery inspection”. In the same sentence. You’re a funny man 😂. I used the newly opened SC at North Shields (which Tesla call ‘Newcastle’) last week for an ill fitting rear quarter light and black sealant overspray. All good - got a Model S courtesy car for the day. Friendly team.

It's easy to book in. They can also remote diagnose the car. I've been in the times and they finally got all my delivery faults fixed. 6 months in the car is in the state it should have been. Except they didn't fix the trim under the sills which was not properly attached. I fixed that myself having seen on Facebook that it's a very common fault.

Glad they resolved the issue eventually. I took a test drive at Leeds. Unfortunately the Model 3 Performance was not the one on sale now, but the old version without big wheels and brakes. I'd certainly consider one as my next vehicle. Thanks for posting.

Thanks, I’m off for a 2nd test drive of the model 3 on Wednesday in Cambridge. 1st year drive unfortunately they only had a performance version & as I’m disabled with a spinal injury I found the ride too harsh. But now they’ve got a standard range so although I’d be looking to order the long range all wheel drive (so some differences in regard to premium interior & all wheel drive & range, it’ll have the same ride in regards to size of wheel & suspension. So hopefully I’ll be able to make the decision as to whether to get the car or wait for the model Y. The model Y will obviously be the better for me as regards tide height & the seats won’t be as low as the model 3. But as I’ve also got arthritis in my right hand I’m having difficulties driving my current vehicle so doubt I can wait the 18-24months that Tesla say would be the wait for the RHD model Ys to become available. Thanks for all the videos, it’s good there are a few UK reviews as most of the longer term reviews on here are USA, and let’s face it their roads & availability of super chargers & how the tech works out there is quite a bit different to what we have here. I especially like the autopilot drives you’ve done on the narrow country roads & on our smaller A roads 👍

Must agree with you that the tesla in Leeds is a very good and friendly service centre. Had car since March and no misalignment problems, only a plastic connector rattling in the boot lid.

Your a tolerant man. I would have been fuming.com about this. I pick up my new model 3 later in September and will be all over it like a rash. Any issues it's not being accepted. J

I know how you feel exactly; I had my Tesla hit by a mustang, and the car took 3 months to repair because of the parts. I still don’t have it yet! But I did get confirmation that this week it’ll be ready for pickup again

I have used the Tesla Service Centre in Milton Keynes to have 2 paint blemishes polished out which I spotted on delivery of my model 3 car (dropped off a lorry outside my house). One looked like a damage mark, maybe on it travels on the lorry, the second was a blemish in the paint.. Very similar experience to you:
Used the app, uploaded pictures.
Got service appointment, tried for mobile but got told immediately this was not available.
They said the work would be a whole day at least depending on the paint work so they had arranged a loan car.
Got messages the day before, had to drive about 1 hour.

Got their, handed the key card, asked about pin number, they inspected and gave me a key car for a model S. They thought it would be most of the day from initial inspection and suggested it would not be wise to stay due to restrictions on site due to covid.
I got to drive the S .
They rang me and texted me the time my car would be ready.
I drove back in the S :) (Yes that sounds like a lot of driving - but I enjoyed the drive ;)
They found an extra paint problem and fixed it, and polished and cleaned the entire car, all fixed and I was very happy with the work. They also charged my car for me.
So all in all very good experience - and as you note, it is a service centre, no sales, they treat you well, are very friendly.

I’ve had a rear light cluster replaced (twice) following water ingress - fixed at home within short period of time by very professional and polite engineer

Interesting one. I’ve got the same door alignment issue on the passenger side. Had a mobile guy come out the other day and do his best on it but said it’s still not quite right. More of an annoyance than anything else. He said I could take it into the service centre to get 100%...just working out when I’ll do that. I’d agree it’s not something you should need to get fixed in the first place!!

Have always had 5 star experience in Toronto with my Performance Raven Model X. Both visits to the service centre were above expectations, and the two mobile visits to my home fixed all concerns, the techs were very friendly and completed the work in a quick fashion

I've had my Model 3 LR since mid April and in the mean time it's developed a minor fault. There are intermittent warnings about seatbelt malfunction. I've registered it for a visit to the Leeds workshop (I live 1 mile away) on Tuesday so hopefully it won't take long. I suspect it's a sensor issue as opposed to an actual fault, but the warnings are nevertheless annoying. 🤞🏻 It's as quick to sort out as yours was. Thanks for the all interesting videos!

This is reassuring - although Leeds is not my closest service centre. I’m sure others are good too. Not sure I’d say “all other manufacturers” though. I’ve always had great service from Porsche when taking a car for something to be fixed or a service. They always have plenty of drinks, coffee, tea, fridge with various chilled drinks, biscuits, chocolate bars, even offered to send someone out to buy me things from a supermarket on them. Anyway, I appreciate your video and I pick my Model 3 up on 4th Sept so I’m eagerly awaiting and starting to buy accessories now.

Really enjoyed watching all your videos Chris so keep ‘em coming. Have to say I have mixed emotions about collecting my M3 LR on 01-09. Just about every review I’ve read or watched highlights paint or build quality issues. Has anyone had a fault free experience?
