"La Fayette" is a 1961 French-Italian biographical film directed by Jean Dréville and starring Pascale Audret, Jack Hawkins and Orson Welles. The film depicts the life of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, in particular his role in the American War of Independence.

The Franco-American alliance was the 1778 alliance between the Kingdom of France and the United States during the American Revolutionary War. Formalized in the 1778 Treaty of Alliance, it was a military pact in which the French provided many supplies for the Americans. The Netherlands and Spain later joined as allies of France; Britain had no European allies. The French alliance was possible once the Americans captured a British invasion army at Saratoga in October 1777, demonstrating the viability of the American cause. The alliance became controversial after 1793 when Britain and Revolutionary France again went to war and the U.S. declared itself neutral. Relations between France and the United States worsened as the latter became closer to Britain in the Jay Treaty of 1795, leading to an undeclared Quasi War. The alliance was defunct by 1794 and formally ended in 1800.

France is our oldest ally. We should never forget that. As they fought alongside the Continental Army to help liberate us from the British Crown, so we fought to help liberate them from the Nazis.

Reading the description it isn't entirely accurate that the British didn't have European allies; they did but with conditions, the forces of the various German principalities from which the British drew German auxiliaries made up a good portion of the troops that fought in the American colonies. In America they were regarded as mercenaries or usually under the collective name of Hessians despite the fact Hesse only made up a portion of the troops hired out to fight. However, it should be noted that when it came to fighting in the war the French also hired German auxiliaries and other troops from other countries as well to fight in the American war for Independence. Otherwise it is correct to note no one else in Europe allied with the British. At one time Catherine the Great was approached to lend troops to the fight but it was said Frederick the Great talked her out of it. Moreover, there were smaller tensions going on in Europe at the time particularly between Austria and Prussia over the region of Bavaria which culminated in the short live Potato War, so-called because the troops spent most of their time digging up potatoes instead of fighting. Sorry for the long statement.

and the Americans dare to say that the French army is cowardly, do not forget that WITHOUT France you will still be under British domination

So when did the French army change uniforms from white to the triple colors of the revolutionary and Napoleonic era?

It was not totally true England did not have allies in Europe. Keep in mind King George III was also the King of Hanover and his sons, he ended up with 6 that live to adulthood, were heirs to both Kingdoms. So England's ruler would be Hanover's ruler unless England ended up with a Queen, as Hanover did not allow female monarchs, thus the dual role for England's ruler ended in 1837 when Victoria became Queen. Plus England at the time also had strong ties with Prussia.

And the irony is if America had remained as part of the British empire slavery wouldn’t have been a problem

Must have been strange to be a transitioning English-to-American subject enlisting the help of the French. It'd be like if Alaska rebelled and got assistance from Russia or Iran
