The Green Card Number, Explained

The green card number is a unique number that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (or USCIS) used to track your application before issuing the card.

It’s sometimes called the receipt number or permanent resident number. You can find it on the back of your card at the bottom in the first line of a long string of 90 letters, numbers, and symbols.
