Using Parentheses in Math

One of the most important concepts to grasp in mathematics is the order of operations. This is the inherent order in which an expression should be computed, with some operations taking precedence over others. This is important because it ensures that the correct result from calculating the value of an expression is objective, and if done in the wrong order, may yield a wrong answer. Parentheses are the ruling class in order of operations, as things inside of parentheses must be done first. Using parentheses is important to communicate to people looking at an expression and also when plugging it into a calculator, exactly how it should be computed. Remember PEMDAS, the handy acronym for remembering order of operations, the P in PEMDAS stands for parentheses. In today's video we go over using parentheses in math, and why they are so important.

I hope you find this video helpful, and be sure to ask any questions down in the comments!
