Thanks for this video! What I would be interested to know/see, is if there is a noticeable increase in video quality for rtx quadro due to the specific updates added to the NVENC chip in Turing.

@5:14 The date you made this video nvidia had listed as you pointed out that the p4000 only had 1 envec chip but if you go to the same website now they have the p4000 with the p5000 with two chips each so now it is actually better value to buy a p4000 than a p5000 as both have the same capabilities.

Great video as always. worth mentioning that eBay has a good bit of "new" P2000's pulled from enterprise machines for upgrades. I was able to get 3 all for under $300. Keep up the good work! would like to see PLEX 101 videos all centrally located on your channel!

not sure if anyone else in the comments has already said this, but it is important to note that there is a large quality difference on transcodes from the RTX Turing NVENC chips vs those in pascal. So even if the P2000 gives you the same number of transcodes as the RTX4000, those RTX transcodes will look much much better, far closer to the quality of a CPU transcode.

You should make mention that some don't even need additional hardware in many cases. They are simply unaware the built-in iGPU on many recent Intel Core processors are more than capable of hardware accelerated transcoding, such as the HD 530, HD 630 and the UHD 630.
