So I have a friend that has had their 4l60e rebuilt 3 times in the last 6 months each time the over drive would go out shortly after any ideas what shop could be doing wrong???

My truck drives fine in drive, I think it even has 1st gear on drive/OD but it won’t let me pull the tree down to 1st gear. 05 gmc Sierra 1500 4l60e. Any idea why? It’s don’t slip or anything weird just won’t shift into 1st manually at all, it definitely feels fine when it’s in drive and this is my second truck with 4l60 I’m fully aware of these trans/truck issues

My 4l60e shifts hard on the first to second gear. The cars been modified by the previous owner. Any idea what this could be?

I’m 16 in highsschool and I have a 2015 gmc sierra
6l80e and I have no money and my parents can’t afford it so my only option is to rebuild it myself. I have no idea what I’m doing… wish me luck. Either this or I have no car for high school
