Even though he’s at a meeting of the clans in Africa this week, Michael Matt offers a pre-recorded introduction to an important address that, up until now, has not been available on the Internet. Back in November of 1988, Michael Davies gave a comprehensive address at a conference in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on the main issues that motivated the rise of the Traditional Catholic counterrevolution. Everything from what really happened at Vatican II, to the suppression of the Latin Mass, to the introduction of the New Mass, to the case of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, to the role of The Remnant newspaper after the Council is discussed in some detail by the premier Traditional Catholic pioneer – the late, great Michael Davies.

Michael, Matt, the first I heard of Michael Davis was on a short wave radio around 1981, I was at that time a NO Catholic. I was listening to an American program from Harrison New York call were Catholics meet I never forgot the program they were conservative Catholics in Michael Davies was talking about the indult at that time. I bought a couple of the cassettes which I still have. In 1987 I moved back to my own province of Manitoba, got disenchanted with the NO, and found a small chapel run by the SSPX. member ever since we have since moved, into a larger church. I do have to say I read a number of his books and articles which I still have and it really hit me very hard. It was like a very dear friend who passed away. I still enjoy his programs.
