I'm glad you came at it with a lot of skepticism before explaining the real science behind how much we had to scale up our resolution to see this monster black hole. Science is difficult, but it's not impossible. And it's always amazing to think about how big these objects are.

You are truly one of the best youtube science creators out there. Rather than jumping onto the bandwagon of over enthusiastic people you are the few people who have pointed out that this is nothing more than a reconstructed image from processing of data collected from radio telescopes. Also as mentioned in the sixty symbols video the people working on the project took great liberty while processing and correlating the data to get the image. Finally radio waves are colourless and the people just put in the red and orange hue to make it look like Sauron's eye.

When this came in German TV they actually explained all this pretty decently. The picture being recreated, not being visible light, that you can't see the black hole but only the gas around it and that it's pretty freakin big. :) but we can see the features of that thing pretty nicely and this is what counts I think!
