Correction: Raidou's outfit is based on taisho era school uniform, he's like a 16 year old student. Yes those uniforms were inspired by military garb.

Edit: He's stated to be in highschool, and attends one in the manga. If you remove the cape and holsters it's not too different from modern japanese school uniforms. Female student outfits of the time were also inspired by military outfits.

Dude, literally both plenty of PRC Chinese, Hong Kongers, and Taiwanese have some strong opinions about militaristic Japanese things. The Rape of Nanking is of a huge sore spot. If anything, it's a bit MORE sensitive in Chinese regions than Korean ones, it just hasn't been as addressed because of the PRC having a younger market.

Taiwan player here. I think it's unfair since Korean & traditional Chinese is in the same version which is called Asia version. And Korean complains about the suit Raidou wears as always while Taiwanese doesn't care about that.

Raidou's suit in Persona5's dlc is also unavailable in Asia version. It's weird for me that our rights are influenced due to other countries.
This game series critic some issues and the content got banned just because Taisho era's army suit? How stupid.

As long as Raidou is in the US version I’m good. Also funny about getting rid of Raidou for his imperial outfit since I. His first game he has to defeat the grand plan of one of the imperial army officers. Said grand plan involving turning a warship into a giant robot.

Why am I getting flashbacks of getting my ass handed to me when I fought SMT protagonist in Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2?

I’m really interested in seeing how Atlus decides to handle this. If they cut the the guest character entirely, then the entire Lanyrinth of Amala segment would have to be reworked since the third kalpa revolves around the character and the 4th requires his menorah to open the door.

Reverting to the vanilla version would be the easy way out, but that version was SO poorly received in Japan. I hope this isn’t the case, but it might be the most financially viable solution.

I see this going one of two ways. The vanilla version gets published in those regions OR they replace the guest character with a model they CAN use like Serph or maybe even a new fiend entirely. I absolutely cannot see them keeping the LoA while also removing the guest character. It just doesn’t make sense.

Raidou's uniform isn't based on an officer one, it's just his highschool's uniform which looked like that back in the day (well, minus the cape).
