When you were a kid, what was your favorite toy? What you say will likely be affected by who you are, how you grew up, what you watched and enjoyed, etc. In truth, there is no “wrong answer” to what your favorite toy is, and if you bought it at a store of any kind, it meant that it was there for you to buy intentionally. But as with all things, there are times and situations where a “good idea” doesn’t actually come off that way, and there are plenty of toys in history that were a bit “too much” for the public. So allow us to show you 20 Disturbing Kid Toys That Got Banned!

Are you kidding me...creepy you have to undress barbie to get the baby out??? I dont think i ever seen a single barbie in any little girls room that was wearing clothes

I would guess that the creepy creeping (crawling) baby doll was banned, not because it was creepy, but because of the numerous pinch points in the exposed mechanism. It would have taken my little sister 0.4 seconds to get her fingers mangled in it.

I think the cleanup set was a great idea. Teaches kids an honest, important, practical, and very useful skill.

I was the oldest, a girl. So when my three brothers were added to the family, my girl toys were already there, and we just added their toys to the collection. We played with everything. They loved the Easy Bake baking oven. There's nothing at all wrong with pregnant Barbie or the cleaning set, for heaven's sake! We didn't have those, but I definitely had Barbies and Kens, and we all played with them. I loved their pedal trucks. Parents need not get their panties in a wad. Leave kids alone to play with everything.

I am sorry but I don't think the pregnant Barbie was bad. I think is cute. It's part of life. Also the cleaning trolley is awesome. It teaches your children to clean up after themselves and makes chores fun. It makes boys and girls want to help around the home.

There was a doll in the 70's that ate and pooped. You would mix up the special "baby food" with water and feed it. Then it would go through a tube inside the doll and out the butt and into a plastic diaper. The problem was mold would get inside as it wasn't cleaned very well. It think it was called Baby Alive.

there were different makes of pregnant Barbie in the UK and they definitely weren't banned. they were actually a good balance in my opinion in teaching children without being too graphic. My niece had one, she loved it. Also cleaning toys aren't a problem why would they be. That's life skills and make believe. my great-nephew loved putting on an apron and helping do chores. Washing up, sweeping, cleaning windows. part water play, part pretending to be an adult. I know when I was a kid I used to really want miniature versions of adult things.

C'mon, there's nothing wrong with pregnant Barbie. People are ridiculous. My aunt actually gave me one, because I was going to get a cousin. It didn't traumatize me. It was realistic and it made me care and understand what was going on with my aunt.

And like another user said, Barbie dolls are ALWAYS naked... I wonder if that's why Barbie today has fake clothing (just painted plastic that you can't remove, because it's part of the doll's body).

Believe it or not, there are little girls who want to do what they see their mom's do! And, that is cleaning, and helping mom around the house! This is a wonderful thing, and should not be suppessed. It's no wonder, so many young adults now, don't know how to take care of their homes!

Hey, my nephew has a cleaning set and loves "helping" mom around the house. Kids LIKE to emulate adults. Sure, not every kid likes cleaning, but learning pretend cleaning is healthy and harmless if the kid is willing and enjoys it on their own.

I had the Growing Up Skipper as a little girl. I remember thinking she was pretty. I remember that my Dee (Dad) thought the doll was hilarious. If you turned her arm, her boobs would grow, she would increase in torso length and develop a smaller waist. She had a long skirt, short skirt, dickie, scarf, socks and two different pairs of shoes. Looking back, it was a fun toy for me and it caused me no harm - adults were the ones who took issue with it or used it for limitless comedic fun.

"Who wants to have that conversation with a child?" I would hope _parents_ would want to have this conversation with a child. The sooner the better.

Awe I had that pregnant 🤰 Barbie and I thought it was so cool! Also kids old enough to play with Barbie’s are old enough to know in an age appropriate way where babies come from-if you’re kids are asking questions you should answer them in an age appropriate way, obviously.

The Boobah dolls weren't such a big hit, but the show was a worldwide smash hit with toddlers. They absolutely loved it...even though the characters were just glowing and dancing creatures that spoke in weird tones.

I'd have loved the Henry Cleaning toy as a kid. Kids don't care about adult thoughts on gender rolls. Kids like what they like. I was born 1963 so you could argue that I was idoctrinated from a young age. However, I and all my friends played with whatever toys they liked - without caring about what gender they were for. I loved a lot of my brothers toys and always rejected dolls, prams etc. But I loved cookers, washing machines and cleaning toys.

My friend had a very old "Chatty Cathy" doll where you would pull the string and it would talk. I was always afraid that it would say something that wasn't supposed to. Like something that wasn't part of the recordings. Now THAT would be what nightmares are made of.
