As a kid I’d touch 9v batteries to the 1.5v motors for fun

You only need oil on the bearings at the front and back of the rotor. Oil or lubricant, not WD40. WD40 is water displacer, not a lubricant.

Вот так и водка действует: сначала кайф, а в итоге - пиздец.

Everyone looking at the brushes catching fire and I can’t look away from the windings ripping apart and wrapping around the shaft on the other end 😂

I remember disassembling (breaking) every RC car my parents presented to me and taking the motors out just to play with them using 2 wires and a battery.

Я с игрушечных пистолетов вынимал двиги и подсоединял на крыше дома к проводам с радиоузла и слушал сельские новости .детство СССР

This remembers me of my childhood, which I break my toys (either I open it up with a screwdriver or smack it with a hammer if it has an other type of screw) and I just straight up take the motor, carefully connecting its wires to a battery, while also being afraid the wire might break (and therefore I cannot use it since I didn't know any way at that time to reconnect the wires or replace them). About 3 years later, I discovered that I could just buy dc motors off Amazon and boards to make cool stuff with them (like arduino or raspberry) instead of just running them for no reason.

I also apologize for any grammatical mistakes I made.

WD40 is a is only a dirt remover and not a lubricant, you need to know that. Try it out with silicon or teflon based lubricants, it would make a difference.

Use gun lube, it’s great for extremely high temperatures and doesn’t evaporate away from heat and it’s viscosity helps the friction

Электротехника - точная наука. И электричество - сила, дающая прекрасные возможности. Но придурки и тут найдут, как поломать или потерять!

I do the RC stuff so this was interesting to me. Very cool, thanks for posting.

If the goal is to get it spinning as fast as possible before it explodes. Then you may want to use greese instead. It won't be any less flammable at those temps, but it should at least cause less shorting and allow for increased speed before failure.

Crazy how it was the bearing amd mating contact area that over heated most people dont think of that without visual comprehension.
