-One who sniffs & smells at objects like a dog.

From Scottish "Snoke" (to sniff, smell, scent out in the manner of a dog, snuff, poke with the nose) from Old Scottish "snok" (to sniff) 1513, from Middle English "snoke" dialectical "snook". Of Scandinavian origin from Norwegian dialectical "snoka" (to snuff, to smell) and Old Norwegian "snaka" (to hunt about).

Used in a sentence:
“Would you mind keeping your groaking snoker away from the dinner table; it’s rather distressing having to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t run off with my steak!”
