Riichi Mahjong Solitaire 20180324

Mahjong or Mah Jongg is the 4-player Chinese tile game. Join me on a journey of learning how to play Japanese style. These Random Pull exercises simulate the drawn tiles and can build your confidence in decision making as you learn how to play Riichi. I've learned the mechanics of Riichi and I've studied the Yaku so it’s now a matter of practice makes perfect.

For south player you forgot chanta (outside hand). You should have kept the pair of white dragons and the discard the pair of 8 dots.
It depends on your winning tiles (also outs, score, turn ...) but in most cases it is not recommended to declare riichi when a wait makes you lose yakus
e.g.
78c 778899d 789b WW
your waits are 6/9 cracks
9 your hand worth 5 han chanta iipeikou sanshoku
6 your hand worth 1 han iipeikou

When you reach it's actually a tsumo
789b 888d 99d 778899c
after declaring reach you are furiten ...

here is some patterns with pon shape
5556 waits 467
1333 waits 12
67888 waits 58 and your pair
23334 waits 3 and your pair

And most important thing. When a player is furiten (West) he cannot claim any tiles: if only one of his winning tiles is in his discard pile he cannot win by ron.

31:55 They cannot claim in furiten. In furiten if ANY waiting tile is in discard, you cannot claim a winning tile, no matter if winning tile in discard or not.
(Learned it hard way on my second game)
