9:23, not true actually, it can do 20 frames per second with the mechanical shutter in live view, it's just that it can only do 16 fps with the mirror (and thus the 191 point DLSR AF system)

2022 and i still think DSLRs can still compete with mirrorless i love my DSLR alot and dont plan on getting rid of it

I use my M50 two handed, the left hand holds the lens, the right is for pressing buttons. I am amazed at how you shoot with one hand, you clearly did lots of physical training.

Idk I just got 5D mark IV over the R . Felt like the system is still premature and has more maturing to do. Even the R5 is a beast but still waiting on another model that I'm sure will be out in the next couple years . For now I'm playing it safe with this workhorse of a camera, also the EVF is not for me, I have big hands too and those mirrorless are like baby cams to me in the hands. The 5D mark IV still dominating and will be for the next years to come . People still shooting film ! It's whatever fits your style/mood and whatever your comfortable with. Peace and Love !

Now that you've run through the R5, have you changed your opinion on the EVF ?

11:57 your opinion is very important😊... cos it gives us insight about what can be the best decision. I still have many questions about this topic but I know I'll get it eventually. You have a big fan in Mexico greetings!

If you want to see what's possible w/ mirrorless, consider looking at Jason Lanier or Andrea Carreta (sp?). Both use Sony, HSS, and produce great results.

You're client doesn't care what you shoot with. I've actually done my personal research. Excellent video. I actually use both in my work. It depends on really how I feel and what type of workout I want that day. 😂😂😂😂

For my work flow, eye af and EVF are indespensible. About 2 years ago I switched from a Canon 5Dm4 and 5Dm3 to Sony a9 and a7R3 and don't regret it. Had I not switched then, I'd be switching to Canon mirrorless now.

Well done! You covered ALL of the basics. I started with a Pentax SLR, then digital P&S Canon cameras to get my feet wet with that new technology, then I jumped to two Pentax DSLRs which work with my extensive lens collection. I recently invested in Sony mirrorless. But I ain’t giving up my DSLR’s. Pentax did fall way behind in the professional photography race, but my DSLR’s have a sentimental value to me. And, as you quoted, they are both weather sealed. I’m not convinced my Sony’s will hold up quite as well. So, I like both formats, but I have a soft spot for my DSLR’s. I my even fire up my SLR’s again, and shoot with some film! It is how I got started in this wonderful craft.

Thanks for your perspective Vanessa! I saw you this year at WPPI and you are a very inspiring person. I am a four year shooter of 1DX Mark II and decided to update to the 1DX mark III after watching your review. Keep being you, awesome!

Hi. I'm mostly a videographer so this next question has an obvious answer for me, but what about the new R5 or R6 for photographers? i.e., R5 vs. 1dx-iii

Sony a9II feature is 20 frames per second with the electronic shutter which outpaces the cannon 1dx Mark III
