PS4 power button issue

Sometimes my power button doesn't work, I found that by pulling up on the front of the case next to the Blu-ray drive and letting it pop back into place fixes it.

Thanks a ton man! I just ignored my power button not working and used my controller to turn it on, but when 2.0 rest mode screwed up my machine and I needed to boot to safe mode, this came in very handy.

Not very impressed with the hardware issues I've had with my PS4 this year. Barely used it's power button stops working, 3 controllers have the joystick rubber ripped, and now 2.0 making me worry about bricking the system.

you just saved a store employes life by posting this. this worked for me and just if i may add dont be afraid to use both hands, the PS4 isint such a fragile machine. anyhoe, now my ps4 works again and havent had troubles with the button since. cheers m8!

I've been dealing with my console randomly turning off for ages and thought it was just a bugged power button since I couldn't use it to turn my console on. Looks like this has solved my problem

I found a fix, you lift up the whole front side like he did and you will see a gold plate inside, so the power button is not a touch sensor, it' a button that pushes a metal band that goes to touch the gold plate, touch the gold plate with your finger and ps4 will turn on, the issue is the mental band had bent or snapped off, so i snapped it back on and now the button is working.

Doesn’t work for me. A guy at the repair shop said it’s because of a loose connection inside - possibly caused BECAUSE of taking the cover off when dusting it.

I don't see what he does like my touch doesn't work and I have tried to do that and it hasn't worked at all

hey i know this is weird but my power button is unresponsive too. but when i took the ps4 from my living room to my bros room and plugged it in there, the button works perfect, and i mean perfect, it would just turn on immediately after a hover and i tested it out many times which worked. so i took it back to the living room and the problem would happen again. i dont know if its the tv/outlets in my living room compared to my bros tv/outlet in his room that are making a difference but just a solution that you guys should try out. so to me i dont think is the actual ps4 console which is wrecked, but either the tv/outlet of where you plug it :/

It's not a touch button like the 360 it's a sencor you have to apply some pressure not to much

i have the same issue but my ps4 says to connect a usb and download the file and i did and it do want work :(

Simple way if you have a CD just put in and it'll work bam

I'm wondering if you could help me out. I just brought a ps4 for £400 and I noticed that the power button is not as responsive as the disk eject. Basically same problem as yours, is there away to fix it

At first i couldnt turn on my ps4 at all after i did this i was able to turn it on with my controller only

What its beeping like crazy with out me touching it, like how it would eject games without me touching it
