Do your kids do chores? Why or why not? What system of scheduling or rewards/consequences have worked in your home? We all have different approaches, and that's ok!

love this!!! very inspiring. Love how you took it step by step. I have heard some of these but consistency is so hard. I want to include them in our schedule because training takes time.

Angel and I are both naturally "neat" people--but one thing we've both noticed since becoming parents, is that in this season, it doesn't bother us to have toys out in the living room. We kind of thought it would...but now, the sight of little cars scattered makes me smile because they are for my babies. So, yes, keeping the house perfectly neat in every way all the time is not the goal--but I completely agree with you that doing work is very healthy and beneficial for kids. The work of the house is not "all" for mom!

My toddler and I are the cleaners and my husband and eldest just have different priorities…chores and responsibilities are an ongoing conversation in our family!

This is so good, Kaela!! Love how you broke this all down, especially sharing the value these chores are FOR the children 👏🤗 Also, so true, we must compromise when coming at this from a realistic approach as a Momma💗

I grew up in a magazine picture perfect house so as long as it’s clean and tidyish I don’t care. My daughter loves tidying and i don’t mind. I only expect that they tidy up after themselves and they learn to cook. I want my kids eating healthy throughout their lives!!! My daughter loves doing laundry and she asked.

We do chores very similar. No allowance for contributing to the household. I need to add in more consistent "assigned" hoisehold chores though. We mostly work on picking up after yourself without anyone asking you too. Like put shoes away when you come in, put plate away after you eat, leave bathroom clean after your shower, pickup your things after zoom meetings, do your own laundry, , ect. But my oldest is ready for more.

I don't have a reward system either. 😅 You've set expectations and they follow through. 🤷‍♀️ No big deal! I don't really give them consequences either, just gentle promptings. I think it helps when you have multiple kids doing their own tasks as well-- there isn't much push back because everyone is doing something. I can imagine that would be harder with just one or two kids.

Yes! Mammas can not do it all…that should never be the expectation!
