It's my experience that you really need to update your drags on your Okuma reels if you're going to use them for wire divers. Even then, be careful! I find 7 strand wire is a cunning and malevolent line that will kink and tangle if you give it a chance....like what can happen when your standard factory Okuma drag sticks then suddenly releases. Other than that, my Okuma reels on my wire rods work fine.
