The Tragic True Story Of Rosemary Clooney

Before her nephew George got famous, Rosemary Clooney was already a prominent singer, songwriter, and actress in the early 1950s. She became famous for songs like “Botch-a-Me,” “Mambo Italiano,” and “Tenderly.” Her career began to languish in the 1960s partly due to her bouts with depression and drug addiction. In the '70s, Clooney's career experienced a revival when Bing Crosby asked her to appear on his 50th-anniversary show.

Her career and life have faced multiple tragedies, including a nervous breakdown after her close friend Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination during his presidential campaign. This is the tragic true story of Rosemary Clooney.

I remember seeing a biography movie about Rosemary Clooney, and also the episode of "ER" in which she was a guest actress. The movie helped develop a great empathy for those who suffer abuse from their parents, or spouses, etc within me. She was a good actress as well. I can see so much of her in George Clooney. In 1977 when This For Remembrance was a great book. I read everything in it and understood what I read. I was a big fan of Rosemary Clooney and bought her cds and albums. I used to call stores in California, New York and Kentucky . I live in Maryland. Even though I loved Rosemary Clooney as a singer and actress I loved listening to heavy metal such as Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Motorhead etc. Even to this day I still buy her cds and albums. Her best album is Rosie Solves The Swingin' Riddle.
