That's my handy work as an apprentice at Platts yard, I remember making the frames for the 24 and working on the 1st 24
Set into the Tenon of the stern post to Keel will be a shilling coin relating to the year the keel was layed
That's me standing at the mast

I owned a very similar boat. Lived on it for 15 years. The best part of my life.

A great all round family cruiser of it's time. Ideal for east coast too.

I'm not a sailor, and wouldn't know a beam from a bream! but watching this channel makes me feel so comfortable with the sea and i really am happy for these people who have found not just a hobby but as the owner Nick said has found a "charmed life". Thanks "My Classic Boat " we need more

Really love this channel!!! Love the sense of the owners you interview!!! As a 18 feet sailboat owner I hate how nowadays people think that if you sail with less than 40 feet ship you're in trouble. Congratulations Nick and Christobel, you have a very nice classic!!!

amazing that this thing was made in the same year as the saturn 5 rocket when i first saw it i thought it was a 1920's or 30's boat

A beautiful boat and the fibreglass ones that came shortly after it almost copied it I would say. It's very much like the trident 24 in shape don't you think. The wife is thinking along my lines. Once I'm too old too pull sheets it's going to have to be a diesel motorboat. Assuming diesels are still alowed then lol

Interesting boat. Interesting compromise. Looks very roomy for LOA, yet a very good sailor.

How old has a sail boat got to be to be a classic. I bought my first sail boat a 1964 international folkboat. She was built in south of England gravesend made out of fibreglass 3 &half ton clinker. Great first sailing boat

Shame you use a fish eye lens. The lines of the boat is it’s beauty not to be distorted
