As someone from right over the border in Limburg (Be) (15 min from Maastricht) I can tell you that Maastricht is the most beautiful city with the best atmosphere in the entire benelux (not biased lol). During carnaval you'll also feel this very big unity and everyone, EVERY FUCKING ONE is wearing a costume. Like you'll be seen as a weird normie if you don't wear a costume so for the love of carnaval, even if it is a onesie, wear a costume for the full immersion! 😊

Maastricht is nice. I work in the office tower next to the railway station. We always take a walk through the city during our break time and grab some lunch on the go.

Fun fact: the bridge u said “it’s so beautiful” that bridge if I am right is the oldest bridge in the Netherlands and I think it was build somewhere in the 1800-1900

next year with Carnaval you should come to the South of the Netherlands, South Limburg, again. Because there is such a different vibe also music wise, then in Brabant.
