Definitely a dare. This would actually be a potentially huge liability for the Marine Corps if it was actually training. People can develop an allergy to fire ant stings and go into anaphylactic shock if bitten too many times, and they don’t test for fire ant allergies.

Easy way to tell they're marines... the cover (hat) is cornered, not rounded. The marines roll sleeves outward, the army rolls sleeves inward. FYI, this isn't training. He probably lost a bet😊
