Get a clean mix with this gain staging tip👇🏼

1️⃣ Grab yourself the VU plugin from Klanghelm

2️⃣ Put it before your plugin,

3️⃣ Calibrate it to -18 VU,

4️⃣ Then use the trim to get it bouncing around 0 VU

Do this gain staging on all of your instruments for a better sounding mix 👍🏼

I always do this and it has changed my music more than any plugin has ever done

Pre-Sonus has a free VU Meter. The Waves VU Meter is always on sale for around $10 as well

Just bought this plugin and now don't need limiters - would definitely recommend it.

Is this “0” on peak levels or average levels?

How much difference does it make versus gain staging your levels to -18 on the mixer channels?

Any help here greatly appreciated.

So do I need to use this after every plug in..in a chain for example to make sure its kept at the same volume all the way down??

And why does it make the mix cleaner? Just purely based on volume being kept at a good level?

If we make all individual elements to touch at 0 on VU meter, then how will we create a static mix? All the elements will be at the same level if we make them sit at 0 on VU meter.
