I cant help wondering if this user is actually David Gilmour or if it is just a fan who choose to use his name as their username. If it actually is Gilmour I think that is really cool that a place like Youtube can put you in touch with one of your favorite artists and they may actually read and respond to your thoughts.

We as fans tend to look at performers as if they were Gods. These Youtube videos let us see that our "Heros" are regular people too.
