So the outer layer is just a shield, not a conductor? Then how does it work? Isn't it necessary to close a circuit in order to send and receive anything? Does this mean there is only one copper wire for bi-directional data flow? it just sounds weird

That white plastic at the core of the cable makes it stiff, I need to run coaxial over a doorway, can I bend the cable to go over the corners of the doorway?
