Are you SURE you're an INTP....

The INTP personality, the logician, is the personality best at deconstructing logic, especially within themselves. I admire INTPs and I always enjoy my conversations with this personality. Of the 16 personalities, the INTP personality is who I'd choose to be stuck in a white room with for eternity.
Sorry in advance if the dating section was weird. If it was I won't do it again lol taking a chance 😂

You know you’re an INTP when you have an existential crisis about being an INTP

"The older INTP get, the more they seem integrated well into society."

Yeah, even aliens learn given enough time lmaoo

INTP here, to solve the obsession with language accuracy for INTPs, just say “ it depends” and “it is relative.”

The thing with INTPs over explaining stuff, apart from the fact that we love to explain, is trying to get people are on the same page. We learn from experience that some of our ideas seem left field to other people, so it's like showing your working in a maths exam. It's either showing others kind of where the idea came from or giving them the opportunity to tells us where we went wrong. For INTPs being wrong is annoying, but if we get new information about where we went wrong that is intriguing. We would rather be corrected than keep a wrong idea.

I felt so called out about being an intp locked away in their room and not socializing. I’m out of my depression episode now and fighting it every day.

Alexis, assuming INTP's have no Idea of surviving or how to gather food is a stark misjudgement.
Of course it is depending of the field of Interest of the INTP, but they are still problem solvers ;)

I cant usually turn off my introverted nature but when I feel comfortable or silly I become a magnet to other people which is nice for a short while then I feel drained and I need to go into myself which I have found is very upsetting for people and it has caused me a lot of problems. It’s a shame because I even like myself more but I can’t stay that way for too long.

Hi, I'm a bit late, I'm an INTP and all I wanna say watching the first 7 min so far is that I admire the way you're respectful about the different traits of the different personalities. I believe most people will just judge a person for being slow when in reality they're still processing info and deciding the best outcome, just an example.

As an INTP, I’ve generally been introverted, awkward and quiet around new people that I’ve met but I’ve generally had a good social circle growing up where I’ve had to get out of my comfort zone in order to achieve my goals whether it’s promoting concerts, running an organization that promotes Metal music, DJing EBM / Synthpop music, and at work. I’ve struggled a lot with connecting with people who are interested in the things that I do though because of that awkwardness and I’ve generally stuck to impersonal ways to promote what I’m doing. My goal was never to gain recognition but only to promote the things that I loved.

THANK YOU, your intro is priceless. People tend to think that I hate talking, when in fact it's the boring things that they want to talk about that are not worth talking at all. When it goes further than chit chat, small talk and obvious facts about everyday stuff, INTPs LOVE to talk. I could talk for hours if it's an intellectually stimulating discussion that allows to go DEEP.

All my friends are INTJs! 🙃 I’d be a damn mess without you guys yanking me outta my comfort zone and reminding me to integrate all of my cognitive functions. I can become so oblivious to my own stagnation, so thank you for taking time to share your wise and inspirational perspective.

As a 42 year old INTP, I have to say that I've learned that I am MUCH happier when I put myself out there. I noticed too, that I'm much "smoother" now that I've exercised my extrovert type. I'm still weird and such, but I'm not as clumsy with it, and I'm comfortable with it.
P.S INTPs... Trust your intuition. It's not always right, but it usually is, and when it's not having it corrected... Is freeing.

29:09 the reason we don't speak up more is because our train of though is so far out there that we get flak for it. It starts as children and remains true forever.

At the end of the day its better to just be quiet than to have to defend the constant barrage of being told we are wrong because others can't see the thread.

And if we get attacked for our knowledge - that's the best way to wound our Fe and cause us to withdraw.

You're right about our tendency to correct people. I get in trouble for it all the time. Personally, I think people want to know when they've made a mistake, but I have learned I'm wrong about that. I DO want to be corrected. Thank you for your kind words about us.

I was “lucky” (for lack of a better word) that my hyper-extraverted mother entertained a lot and used to cart me out sometimes to help entertain everyone. So I developed my Ne very early and found it helped me in all kinds of ways as an INTP. For instance, job interviews were very easy for me to ace. When an INTP really develops their Ne, they can be quite formidable debaters. Just my very non-expert 2 cents.

I’m an INTP. Normally I like being very isolated and enjoy it a lot. But I’ve learned that I can find enjoyment socializing when I use all functions. I’ve started learning that si actually helps during conversations to be able to find points in topics I know absolutely nothing about and that si allows me to use Ne to be able to relate to people in unique ways. It creates quite exciting conversations. My problem when I was young was thinking connecting with people was only about feelings or trying to check off a check list of topics which was very tiresome. But connecting with people in fun ways is about sharing thoughts and had much more enjoyment in conversations when I tried making the conversation my own. You were spot on with the changing topic quickly if the conversation goes to myself although I’ll gladly type a full paragraph about myself anonymously lol

I could SO cook, hunt, and/or forage you a delicious meal, AND carry on an intellectually stimulating conversation with you! At the SAME TIME!! There just might also be an unasked for history lesson included about the origins of whatever meal I'm preparing, how it interacts with your specific blood type, and what types of foods you're most likely allergic to but may not be aware of 😂

I'm an INTP-a and I think you did ok, it's difficult to say exactly how an Intp thinks or what they think. For me it's like a chain reaction, one thought/idea sets of another that reminded me of something and then I have a totally new random idea that ends up being associated with the original so it seems like my attention span is short when explaining because the most important part was not any of the information being processed it was the sensation of the newness and adrenaline rush of feeling the truth of the facts

Hands down the best explanation of MBTI and cognitive functions so far.
