TODD RUNDGREN 'We Gotta Get You A Woman' 1970 HQ

Runt is the self-titled debut of the band Runt, first released in 1970 on the Ampex Records label. Many regard the album as Todd Rundgren's debut solo album, as all later reissues (including the 1990 CD reissue by Rhino) credit the album to Todd Rundgren rather than to Runt. At the initial time of release, however, Runt was identified as a trio consisting of Rundgren (guitars, keyboards, vocals), Hunt Sales (drums), and Tony Sales (bass). The entire album was written and produced by Rundgren.

Love this song. Almost crashed my car today when this was sung “they may be stupid but they sure are fun”. Gotta love the 70’s

Ok, so I work in a grocery store and this song played on the intercom the other day. Had NEVER heard it before. Shared it with my partner Shane who'd never heard it before either. What a great funny song! I would LOVE to hear it in a film sometime. I think it deserves a second chance in the world! So if you happen to read this comment...share this song with some friends and maybe we can make it blow up!

Again 1970. The music that came out that year was beyond amazing.

I LOVE the way he pronounces Leroy in the intro. Todd, you have no idea how you've touched our hearts and senses. Thank you sir. ❤️

I'm certain I was wearing hip hugger bell bottoms and making up a dance routine as I was acting as a backup singer. Great childhood memories!

Adorable song. Reminds me of my youth, riding my horse and listening to my portable radio. We had to wait all day to hear our favorite song. Fun times.

Damn this song is 52 years ago. I always felt Todd had a good handle on ways of love in a young mans life.

Todd was/is awesome! If I remember correctly, he recorded this album in his bedroom on a 4 track recorder. Instruments, vocals, mixed. All Todd. Now that's talent!

My best friend was Roy. I told him this was his song. He’d just laugh. He passed away 3 yrs ago. RIP LeRoy!

Beautiful, reminds me of much better days. America was a much gentler place and we at least shared a modicum of love. I am 65 now and fear for the young; you just don’t know what it is to live in harmony and listen to truly beautiful and innocent music. Peace.

My wife loves T R!! I never heard of him! She played all his songs for me! What a phenomenal talent! She has away of keeping me young! What’s amazing is we come from different generations, but our souls mesh together so well! We both appreciate classic music and movies!
