VW Mk6 Jetta gets Bilstein B4 REAR shocks and new Hardware!

Installing Bilstein B4 struts in the rear with new mounts and bump stop on the Mk6! Ran into a few surprises but got it sorted out!

Note- use jackstands! Do as I say, not as I do :)

14MM OD to 10MM ID x 30MM Brass Inserts

Breaker Bar the Axle Bolt Loose 1st B4 u lift the vehicle. I just did my front set. Rear sits lower now. 100k+

Impact wasn't cutting it for my axle bolts, had to use a breaker and I thought I was gonna break the breaker at one point, but stuck with it and got it done.

just to add a note. if you have a mk6.5 facelift you dont need the bushings.

The through bolt (that you reused) for that first shock must have been stripped just enough that you had to use washers. The thickness of the shock bottom for the stock and the B4 should be the same.

Nice job on the install. I'd however state, the Bilstein B4 is an OEM equivalent replacement, an upgrade would have been the B6.

Great job bro. Rare video that i was looking for before i purchase the b4s. Im changing my ford shocks n struts. I have a question. Does the regular shock mount which i prefer same like yours to also replace to gain the best overall comfort of new shocks fits perfectly with b4s? Or you have to buy the matching b4 mounts? Im going to watch the front install? I drive agressively but safely, however, road condition in our country is poor. I have an ecosport turning 5 year old but all shots now and need replacements. How old is your shock, im just curious?

Hello, I’m doing this job on a 2011 Jetta with the same rear suspension system, I already have it all apart but when trying to put together I snapped the lower bolt. Do you know where I can find torque specs for the shock bolts?
