I was once $40,000 in debt.

Five years ago, I started on a journey to financial independence. Along my financial journey, I learned how to pay off debt, debt-free living tips, and personal finance management to build financial wellness.

Gaining financial freedom hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned personal finance tips that can help you develop financial freedom no matter where you are in your finance journey.

I’m here to tell you about how I learned to manage my money, and how you can do the same. I want to help you avoid making some of the mistakes that I did. Or, if you’re in a situation similar to mine, to let you know that there is a path forward and give you a little advice for learning to manage your money and creating a financially sustainable lifestyle.

Okay. Full disclosure here. I have been absolutely foolish with money over the years, and that lead to me nearly being evicted from my apartment a few months ago. I have ignored my student loans pretty much since I graduated from college (either deferred, and now defaulted). I'm 43, and ashmed of this. I want to know, how long did it take you to get out of that debt? Ideally, I would like to be out of debt in the next few years, but my current pay as a teacher's assistant will not allow for it. Plus, I still want to have a decent work/life balance so that I can do activities that I enjoy. I'm also single, and don't have kids. How can I really tackle this?

Great share. I am in MDY but have still struggled with the debt. Love the curriculum. I am renewed and made the behavior change and now and following the snowball to really realize my power and respect the money I work for as a business owner.

I would like more tips on how to deal with money with a spouse. I'm very interested in the actual things you agreed on with your husband. I'm reading and learning more about personal finances but not sure how to deal with money as a couple if everything is joint and we make different amounts of money.
