Nice video and I’m excited for your journey to scratch series! I’m a 10 hcp now, trying to get to scratch. Also, as a fellow Michigan golfer, I’ll have to check out those headcovers! They look nice!

This game can make the best golfers look, pedestrian. People who have been around the game long enough know that low handicappers can have a day that spirals out of control just like the rest of us. The difference is my bad days are in the +20's. Nice work! thanks for sharing.

As someone who is very close to scratch (0.4), the effort it takes is a lot. I practice about 6 hours a day if not more. The biggest part of shooting good rounds is being able to get up and down and eliminating double bogeys. As silly as it sounds, playing the kids tees helps you learn how to score as well.

Started golfing about a year ago, enjoy your videos a ton. Went from 25+ to now at a 13 handicap. Had the same tactics with practice, but had more gains recently with course management/ short game work. Hopefully I’ll be breaking 80 by the end of the year! Golfbusters to the moon!

I’m currently a 12 HCP so this is a fun video. Narration was fun in the video.

Great series, keep it up. I started golfing this summer and I'm at 20.7 hcp, broke 90 once.

I wish i had the time to practice and play more, but I have 4 kids so that's just not possible. I'll be happy if I get to 12 hcp by the end of next season

I just started golfing this year. So far taken a few lessons and on a mission to break 100 this year. Keep up the good work, excited to be on the journey.

I’m 52 and just started taking lessons in February, I can feel your pain! And I’m only just getting started!

2:31 Try chipping with an 8-iron. When you're only a foot or two in the rough it'll be your new favorite chipper. Give it a month of practice to see how it feels it took me a while to get used to it. Zero chance of blading it

Can’t judge a persons handicap by their swing, despite what we’d instinctively think. I had a prettier swing when i first started but was playing 110+. Broke 100 in 6 weeks, but took me another 8 months to break 90. Now im just stuck at about 90’s. Golf is so mental, but it doesnt teach us alot about ourselves. Good job.

I’m off 3.4 at the moment and it’s taking me the better part of 20 years to get to that level and stick with it. Good tip is I use Arccos Caddy system. This allows me to monitor my stats for every area of the game, driving, the approach, chipping, and putting. It’ll tell me where I’m going wrong and what I need to work on. I usually go out at least four or five times a week in my own and will pick one particular area to work on in that little practice session..
So knowing what you need to work on, and having the time to put it into practice is key.
I think I’m quite lucky to have the time to be able to do this now and scratch is very much a possibility in the next one to 2 years

I’m finally at 9, but hard work to keep it there

Couple of things I noticed watching your video (great video BTW)

1) you look like you’re trying to play to a score rather than playing each hole, focus on finding more fairways or good misses off the tee

2) Putting… practice a crap load of long putts to dial in your lag putting… it’s all about feel

3) A trick I use and works sometimes if you get the mindset right, I imagine I’m playing 3 x 6 hole rounds, seems more manageable, so I pretend my first round is just 6 holes and play for that, then I tee off on the 7th and play another 6 hole round… somehow mentally seems easier

Good luck 👍🏻

I don't know if you already did but get a Coach on your side that helps you to fix problems and leads you to the right path. But you will get there no matter what.

I'm very close to scratch I vary between 1.5 and 3.3 during the year. If you want to drop below 6 you need to focus much more on putting and chipping/pitching, inside of 50 yards. I heard you said you were hitting 100 drives a day... shift that around and put that time into putting and short game. Good luck my friend.

I’m a 43 handicap(only been seriously golfing for 3 months) but I can putt better than most people that have way lower handicap than me. I have a 2-putt or less 78% of the time. I can’t wait until I get I to the teens. I will be scratch soon after. 🏆

6 handicap isn’t bad at all. Only thing I notice in your swing is that you are to tense and the back swing is fast and short. Try and follow through more on your release, feel like you are throwing the club at your target and your hips and chest are pointing at the target when you’re swing is finished. But golf is hard and different things work for different people. Following along to see if you hit your goal.
