My feelings exactly, whenever I think my brain is running a mile per minute I take to cooking, it helps me slow down and focus, and the end product is tasty too so it is a win win

The grandma thing was so relatable. My favorite thing to do as a little girl was sit in the kitchen and watch my abuelita cook a meal for her children and children in laws grandchildren and husband who all lived under the same roof. She’d cook this 10-14 person meal while watching a Novela and have someone on the phone probably one of her sisters gossiping while blasting some music. Something about the the absolute drive this woman had to put 100% into everything she was doing showed up in her food and made it just that more enjoyable.

i’ve never heard anyone explain so eloquently why cooking is so enjoyable. i like getting to go into my own world when i cook too.

i’m moving into my own place soon and i’m excited to finally have my own kitchen. most important rules: nobody bother me unless it’s an emergency and nobody’s allowed in until i’m done cooking!!! lol
