All the ladies look like the other mother from Coraline.

Those faces looked so freaking scary.if my entire family had those faces, I would die of a trauma and nightmares

This is more horrifying to me than the usual films with ghosts jumping out from around the corner. The more real the subject, the less comfortable the viewer.

I think the end of the film was meant to show us that in a world where everyone is the same, no one is really gonna know who you are. I think she died while having the surgery and the doctor didn't want to suffer the consequences so he took her place or had someone else took her place and no one would really know what happened. Her family just looked at the person who joined them at the table and immediately assumed it was her.
You lose your life when you lose your individuality. Because then you've given up on living for yourself and started to just live to become just like everyone. There is no U in everyone. Chour hahah

It was theorized on another channel that posted this video that she had died during the surgery due to complications but while she passed away in her sleep she had dreamt that her surgery was successful and she had gone back to eat with her family with her new face

This sadly is real. I live in Thailand and I see and know people who get these surgeries and look so scary after. Very Bizarre. The nose and chin thing is an obsession. Good topic for a film. Enjoyed it.

This film fits well here. Everyone is getting ... ALTERED.

I think the end is a big ol mirror to the audience. The entire time we’re like “Why does she care how much she looks like”. But at the end of the film that’s all we care about

I love the fact that we did not see the protagonist's face in the end. It made me want to see more. I love when stories or films are left open-ended. Also, how, when she was a kid, she made pictures of everyone else and how, in her mind, everyone looked different... then as she aged she began to draw pictures of people looking like everyone else.

Something I haven't seen in the comments is how this short film also brings attention to the hypocrisy of many people in society. When the mother and sister tell the main character that she is fine the way she is, those words ring hollow because they had chosen plastic surgery rather than accepting and embracing their natural features. They are promoting self-acceptance while doing the opposite, which obviously leads to the main character rejecting the idea of self-acceptance since no one else seems to be doing it. Society tells people to love themselves and to be individuals (especially in the west regarding individualism), while simultaneously promoting trendy, unrealistic beauty standards. I think one of the messages that should be taken from this film is that if we want future generations to love themselves for who they are, it starts with us; we have to reject the arbitrary beauty standards the media pushes and instead learn to be secure in who we are and to appreciate individuality. Kids are impressionable. We have to do better for them.

For non-Korean viewers, South Korean society greatly values homogeneity more than individuality. Trends from media send powerful if brief shockwaves through casual fashion even moreso than in western countries. South Korea is also arguably the cosmetic surgery capital of the world. Double-eyelid surgery is extremely common among all ages. Just look at most of the K-pop idols and compare their often similar faces to actual Korean faces on the streets. This film demonstrates the immense pressure to conform to the unnatural "beauty standards."

An example of an actress who has not had the eyelid surgery would be So-dam Park in the award-winning movie Parasite. Compare her to most of the other women in the cast or K-pop female idols in general.

I'd also add that the title in Hangul (Korean language) at 1:01 and the main protagonist's name are "in-hyung" which means "doll" in Korean, although the title says "human form, " which may be a more nuanced meaning, I guess. I just remember one of my favorite songs by K-pop group BabyVOX was "Inhyung" (doll).

Edit: Another amazing detail of this film is that the artificial faces are shaped similar to traditional Korean Hahoe masks used in folklore theater.

The reason they don’t show her face in the end is to focus your attention as to WHY you need to see it. People get so preoccupied with wanting to see the result of a plastic surgery so they have something to compare.

I'm going to be honest, this was more sad than scary. to me the girl wants to look like everyone else, but she should love how she looks like. In general in the world, everyone should take pride in what they look like instead of shaping themselves be accepted by those around up. don't change yourself for other peoples perspective, love urself.

I think the reason why her parents and her sister didn’t give her permission to doing plastic surgery because they’re know she’s real, beautiful and too late to them, back to their normal form, she’s a the human form

This is what social standard When everyone around us tell something is beautiful which is really not...we are pushed to accept it.... and loose the real beauty.... Never do something because everyone else doing that!!!

This is a very light case considering what the video is about, but I'm 29 years old, and I have a huge nose. I have always considered plastic surgery. One day, I was talking with a friend from Korea who had double eyelid surgery when she was younger. She told me that she deeply regrets it. Nothing was wrong with her eyelids the way they were. They were doing their job, and they were naturally hers. It made me look at my nose differently. It's my nose, and yes, it is quite bigger than what is considered desireable...but it is my nose. And it is doing it's job. It didn't ask to be big; that's just how it grew. It's not causing any medical problems, so there is no need to fix it. Now I have grown to accept my nose for what it is. 😊

Moral of the story:
nobody is equal to nobody, nobody is perfect
everyone has to be the way they are

Those altered faces are truly the stuff of nightmares. Imagine wanting to surgically alter your beautiful face to look like some kind of anxiety inducing creature just because everyone else is doing it. A terrifying thought indeed.

for those wondering why her face isn’t shown at the end — you don’t need to see what it looks like, just look at the faces of her family members. they all look the same, and so does she.
