Now the recommendations will be coming in by the truckloads for "Stabat Mater Dolorosa" with these two powerhouses (indeed!) and mine is no different: "Epica Stabat Mater Dolorosa feat Floor Jansen LIVE". Tip: check lyrics beforehand, it will provide some background. This medieval hymn to Mary is a classic in Western sacred music. Floor & Simone do the Pergolesi version and get the full metal crowd to listen in awe. Cheers from Amsterdam!

A special appreciation for the fact that Simone was 12 weeks pregnant during this 21 song concert. Also a shout out to the drummer and the poor people who had to mix this sound. They did a perfect job, by the way.

Yeah! Everybody suggesting Stabat Mater Dolorosa, but FYI the real deal is Kingdom of Heaven pt. 3 at Omega live. That's the million dollar performance of Epica you should do.

Next song, Chasing the dragon live retrospect....😊🤘

Simone wasn't heavely "Dutch Windmilling" as Floor did because she was a few months pregnant at the time.
NOTE: The Retrospect show is Epica's celebration of their tenth anniversary in March 2013. Epica performed on stage with the 70-piece Extended Hungarian Remenyi Ede Chamber Orchestra and the Choir of Miskolc National Theatre.

This is what it will sound like when the final battle begins and the heavens open up and the Valkyries come down to save us. Or something like that

They were celebrating the anniversary of one of their albums. Why they had a full orchestra.
Simone was 3-4 months pregnant at this time and was already singing for a couple hours by this point. 🤘

All these Dutch Goddesses can sing like angels. Must be something in the water, 'cause they have the PIPES!! So glad you responded to this masterpiece. Epica is another genius band, and is led by Floor's former bandmate from After Forever, Mark Jansen (no relation). Doesn't hurt that Simone are ridiculously close friends. They share the spotlight, frequently pointing it on the other. Just another example of the power of love!! Completely loved your delight, it is highly contagious. Hope they never find a vaccine!

These two old friends are almost impossible to macth - they are incredible powerful and versatile. They have made different duets like this one, and also Floor's own 'Sweet Curse' - a song she has done also with Henk Port and Russel Allen.
Super reaction from you 👍 🤘 🤘

I saw a comment somewhere about this song that said “when Floor and Simone sing together it is like a new instrument”… how true is that!
Sensory overload!!

Their voices blend so well together, you would think they were biological sisters, as well as sisters in metal.
