I am more than happy with my 3 phase Zappi working with my enphase solar, 22kw and is programmable for timed, and supply criteria options. Chargers my Polestar 2 perfectly. Long Cable and just works

I'd say if you are familiar with Home Assistant, Fronius WattPilot can be used well with non-Fronius inverters too. I have it working well with a GoodWe Inverter.

I just plug into my 10 amp power point @ 2kW/h. Now that electricity prices are increasing, I program my BYD ATTO 3 to charge when the sun ought to be shining to use my PV generation. The opportunity cost for this is 7c/kWh, namely the FiT from Momentum Energy. 🙂

I have got the Zappi 2.1 on a Hybrid system. Despite it having WiFi I have run a Special CAT5 cable directly between the Zappi and the secondary router. Due to their LCD display, we can either choose on the phone via the App or directly at the charger what kind of charging I want to do.
99.5% of charging is done using excess Solar only, then I can still do excess Solar with minimum charging power no matter what and then the 3rd option is just charge flat out no matter what.
I did spend a lot of time investigating the chargers and found the Zappi to be the most suitable for our Hybrid System, as it gave me the most options while using.

Are Zappi chargers still derating? or have they fixed this issue now? I see some positive feedback but have heard the componentry used in these is substandard. Has anyone had a look and checked them over?

Love my MyEnergy Zappi 2.1 single phase, tethered and use it primarily in solar-only mode though this may het less practical as we head into Tassie winter. Still, at only 15 cents/kWh during off-peak, would only cost me $10.50 to charge from 20% to 90%. Beats filling the Subaru for $120.

In my previous house I had a Zappi that I was quite happy with. When we moved, I went with the WattPilot partly on the assumption that it would seamlessly integrate with the Fronius inverter and the Fronius smart meter. Overall, I have been less than impressed. The WattPilot is not straight-forward to use, and the user manual is the complete opposite of ‘user-friendly’. As well, the WattPilot doesn’t seem to integrate well with the other Fronius devices. Solarweb, although it recognises the WattPilot, doesn’t seem register when the WattPilot is operational – from looking at posts on the WattPilot facebook user group this seems to be a common problem. For me, the WattPilot was definitely not value for money.

I thought that the Tesla wall charger was only a "dumb" charger and it can't be programmed to only use rooftop solar.
