We didn't hear an explosion, so I'm pretty positive that he just blasted off like Team Rocket, he'll be fine.

I love how this particular chasm is inside a cave, which means Kohga most likely slammed into a ceiling at near terminal velocity before exploding.

Honestly I really respect koga and the yiga clan. Even though they are weak they were the only people to be able to fully utilize zonai devices and they are also very ingenius. Koga is also a very respected leader and people don't follow him out of fear. I also love how it is canon that koga reached the depths because he fell into the bottomless pit. It's a very cool connections to the previous game and explains why the yiga have mastered the zonai devices and why they are everywhere underground

i hope this becomes a team rocket situation where he keeps getting into situations that should kill him when you defeat him but he never actually dies every game

If Master Kohga was as muscular as Ganondorf, he would be EXTREMELY threatening. 

Think about it, he almost never dies, no matter what kind of brutal end he seems to meet.
