The reason everybody kept saying 'notebook' when it was 'laptop' It's not because of a brand but it's because that's what we call it here. we call a 'laptop' a 'notebook'. A laptop here would be used to refer to a fake 'laptop' like a kid's toy.

Also I don't think a macbook would be the first thing to mind when seeing a laptop since apple it's not that big in Brazil. At least not as big as in the US

Take note: In Brazil notebook = laptop we use both words for portable computers even in Portuguese 🥴
