How to Upgrade VMWare ESXi from 6.5 to 8.0!

In this video I will show you how to upgrade your ESXi software from version 6.5 to latest version 8.0, Keep in mind you can really use this same method in this video to upgrade almost any version you have to the latest. You can also use this method to reset the main esxi password as well.

why does this look very easy, but when I do it from ESXi 6.0 to 6.5 my screen turns pink "PF Exception 14 in world". Currently I am using an HP DL380 G7 server there is a notification "CPU Support Warning", I have tried Create Custom ESXi from powerCLI still fails, screen is still pink

Will the upgrade lose th e VM's if the OS and datastore are on the same partition? during your process I did see it was repartitioning

what about networking settings: do they stay same? or do we need to reconfigure them?

I thought you can't go from 6.5 to 8.0.
