Dinosaurs Were NOT Wiped Out by Asteroids. Here’s Why.

It’s a common evolutionary idea to think that dinosaurs were wiped out by asteroids, but this theory simply doesn’t hold water as Calvin Smith explains.

The platypus, ducks, and squirrels and beavers are all harbouring a DARK SECRET... They all only look timid...it's all an act .. STAY SAFE!

all this time, I thought it as because dinosaurs smoked, and the mammals did not. Mammals were smart enough not to smoke.

Please try and explain away the KT boundary and the Iridium found there.

A) no, none of those creatures existed with dinosaurs. Their evolutionary ancestors did.
B) the asteroid didn't just knock them out all at once. That would be impossible. What it would do is set in motion a chain of events. Increased particulate would decrease light killing a lot of plants, starving herbivores dinosaurs first. . . Why? Because they were big and need a lot more that the "squirrels" then the larger carnivores. Smaller theropods continued on for some time, many branching into avian dinosaur lineage becoming birds.

Alligators had slow metabolisms. Dinosaurs were giant and needed plants and other dinosaurs to sustain them. Alligators and lizards could go close to a year without any meal

When you get your evolutionary information from Wikipedia 🤦‍♂️

Uuhh.. the dinosaurs need a MASSIVE, MASSIVE, MASSIVE amount of food, which no longer existed after the impact

Okay.... wow.

I'm a geologist and I'm working to a graduate degree in paleontology. I actually wrote a paper on the geochemical tracers of the Chicxulub impact crater (the crater associated with the K-Pg extiction) so this is an area I'm very familiar with.

1. Yes, many hypotheses for the reason behind the extinction of the dinosaurs have been proposed over time, but 99% of them have fallen out of favor because the evidence for them is lacking. The asteroid impact theory has mountains of evidence and testable data, so it is a popular and likely explanation accepted by most geoscientists.

2. Yes, certain types of mammals, crocodiles, turtles, and fish survived the impact. But this says nothing about the invalidity or validity of the impact theory. Many ecological and biological explanations have been given for how these animals survived. No one was unaffected, but some critters weathered the storm better than others. Heck, even a certain branch of dinosauria survived in avians. It seems animals who were smaller or could live in water did fairly well. (Keep in mind that arge, air-breathing, aquatic animals like mosasaurs died out.)

3. We have the crater. We have the isotopic evidence around the world. We have the dates. I know YEC proponents do not care for that data, but let me propose this. If an asteroid the size of several Mount Everests collided with the planet in the past 4500 years, why did no one write about It?

Why would it be surprising that small animals survived while large dinosaurs which may have needed to eat more food or required more resources to survive did not? Seems to fit well with the evolutionary explanation that animals better suited to the environment survive. So small animals that required fewer resources to survive, did, while the dinosaurs did not. What's the surprise here?

They most likely died during Noah's time in the flood, makes more sense

Well if you can find a 5yr old who can read for you. You will find that science has explained all of this is significant detail. Why mammals survived, why smaller dinosaurs did survive and evolved. Why reptiles survived and evolved. This is very basic stuff

Kinds yes. Modern species no. Proving evolution. Keep up these entertaining videos. You are making hundreds of atheists with your quackery. Providing a forum where people can correct you on your bad science is very much appreciated.

Flood is coming. God: "I will save the dinosaurs." Flood ends. God: "I will kill the dinosaurs."

The dinosaurs where bigger, needed more food, the lack of food and worse climate after the impact led to the dinosaur ecosystem collapse, while smaller animals could survive easier because they fed on things dinosaurs couldn’t sustain off of. Simple.

Oh man, you're in for a aneurism when you find out about birds. Good luck out there.

You don't even have a basic understanding of the extinction, but you sre trying to disprove it. The astroid's debris blocked out the sun killing most plants, which killed most Herbivores, which killed most carnivores. Some small herbivores and carnivores were able to survive off of the little food, which is why birds and other small animals survived, and the massive dinosaurs didn't. Simple, but apparently still too complex for you.

There is explanation why most small animals less than 25 kilos survived. More over most animals during the extinction died not directly because of several mass extinctions but died indirectly to gaps in food chain. Several othet factors also contribute why some animals lived. Animals body types like how long they can survive with food is also one factor. Don't forget the extinction of species happened over several millions of years. Infact TRex is much closer to us than Triassic dinos. So they slowly went extinction but not so permanently and immediately that all life forms died on earth. If that actually happened we wouldn't be here. So before you question the authenticity of a theory and bashing it online, better read.
