I decided to build a new transmission crossmember for the COE. One step closer to putting this Motorhome frame swapped COE back on the road.

Well done Wally, you’re making great progress. I think “Quick N Dirty” might make a good name for it. Cheers mate, Stuart 🇦🇺

I appologize for making your build, Seem, like its under examination. We watchers do that. Its our job. PLEASE, don't forget, this is YOUR build. Your chanel is, What you are doing, Not How to do it. You ARE entertaining. And thats the point.
I wish that I had the time and money to do something like you are doing. But i have to live vicariously through you. For that I am thankful. Please keep up the cool shows. 😀

I can picture the doghouse to cover the engine but setting up the steering is going to be great. Looking forward to seeing how you do it. Really appreciate this channel.

A nice setup for ramps was the length of the truck. They were stored in the center of the bed in a channel, so when both were stowed, the bed was flush. They were built out of aluminum and had drop-down supports in the middle that pinned up in the underside of the ramp to stow.
There was a piece of round stock attached to the upper end of the ramp. This slid sideways into a piece of tubing with a slot cut in it to make it a "C" shape. This only kept the ramp secure. There was a block underneath to support the weight.
Even out of aluminum, they were heavy. The guy always seemed to have an extra pair of hands to help lift.
You had to pick up the second ramp to get it on top of the first. He had a block that toggled up in the middle that a round bar would fit in. Just putting a nice taper on the lower end would help. He talked of putting some legs underneath the lower ends that as the ground end slid in, these would stand up to about the height of the bed. He was then going to use a cable winch to pull them up.
I never saw this in practice.
I only saw the "Armstrong" method.
This was built on a school bus chassis that was pretty slick as the rear bulkhead, along with the emergency door, was moved up to make a crew cab.
The whole bed was flat, so if you wanted to haul pallets or other things, nothing got in the way. I dont know how he dealt with debris getting in the channel. Just swept it out while the ramps were out, I suppose.
I only saw it twice and not much more of a study than that. It was pretty slick.
Maybe your overactive imagination can run with this.
Nice trans mount, just remember the nylock nuts, please.
Cheers
Terry
